Broadreach is seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our internship program as Broadreach Interns. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of experiential education, while also enhancing your leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. As a Broadreach Intern, you will have the chance to work closely with our experienced staff, assist in program coordination, support student learning, and contribute to the overall success of our programs.

Responsibilities
  • Program Support: Assist in the logistical planning and coordination of Broadreach programs, including travel arrangements, accommodations, and activity scheduling.
  • Student Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students by actively participating in program activities, leading discussions, and providing guidance and support.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Ensure the safety and well-being of students by adhering to Broadreach's safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety awareness.
  • Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and role model to students, encouraging personal growth, resilience, and a sense of global citizenship.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties such as maintaining program documentation, organizing program supplies, and managing communication with students, parents, and partner organizations.
  • Program Evaluation: Contribute to the continuous improvement of Broadreach programs by providing feedback, participating in debrief sessions, and sharing insights on program effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in fields such as education, environmental science, marine biology, international relations, or related disciplines. Recent graduates are also welcome to apply.
  • Passion for Experiential Education: Strong interest in experiential education, environmental conservation, global health, or related fields, and a desire to inspire and educate students through hands-on learning experiences.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership abilities, including excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Cultural Competence: Respect for diversity and a willingness to work in multicultural settings, appreciating and adapting to different customs, traditions, and perspectives.
  • Flexibility and Resilience: Ability to adapt to changing environments, handle unexpected situations, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Outdoor and Travel Experience: Experience with outdoor activities, travel, or previous participation in educational programs abroad is a plus.
  • Certification: Valid first aid and CPR certification is desirable.
