This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mine closure planning and environmental management within the mining sector. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced professionals, contributing to various aspects of mine closure projects and gaining valuable insight into the industry.
- Assist in the development and implementation of mine closure plans, including reclamation and rehabilitation strategies.
- Conduct fieldwork and data collection activities to support mine closure assessments and monitoring.
- Support environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance efforts related to mine closure activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental, social, and economic considerations into closure planning processes.
- Analyze environmental data and assist in preparing technical reports and presentations.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement activities, including meetings with community members, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends in mine closure and environmental management.
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in environmental science, environmental engineering, mining engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in environmental management, sustainability, and the mining industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Previous experience or coursework in environmental impact assessment, mine closure planning, or related areas is preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
