Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of mine closure plans, including reclamation and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Conduct fieldwork and data collection activities to support mine closure assessments and monitoring.
  • Support environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance efforts related to mine closure activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental, social, and economic considerations into closure planning processes.
  • Analyze environmental data and assist in preparing technical reports and presentations.
  • Participate in stakeholder engagement activities, including meetings with community members, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends in mine closure and environmental management.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in environmental science, environmental engineering, mining engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in environmental management, sustainability, and the mining industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Previous experience or coursework in environmental impact assessment, mine closure planning, or related areas is preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
