Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of electoral processes, including voter registration, voter education, candidate nomination, and election day logistics.
- Support the implementation of voter outreach and civic education programs to promote voter awareness and participation.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of voter databases and ensure data integrity.
- Provide administrative support for various IEC activities, such as meetings, workshops, and public consultations.
- Conduct research and analysis on electoral systems, policies, and legislation.
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating election-related activities to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with IEC staff and stakeholders to foster effective communication and teamwork.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as political science, public administration, or law.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, and proficiency in at least one other official South African language.
- Knowledge of South Africa's electoral system, political landscape, and democratic processes.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather, interpret, and present data effectively.
- Proficiency in using computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of professionalism and integrity.
- Flexibility to travel and work in different locations within South Africa, as required.
