Responsibilities
  • Support project implementation: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of projects and initiatives undertaken by the UNDP in areas such as sustainable development, poverty reduction, climate change, governance, gender equality, and human rights.
  • Research and analysis: Conduct research, collect and analyze data, and contribute to the preparation of reports, briefings, and policy documents related to development issues and UNDP's focus areas.
  • Program support: Assist in organizing and coordinating events, workshops, conferences, and meetings related to UNDP's programs and initiatives.
  • Knowledge sharing: Contribute to the development and dissemination of knowledge products, including articles, case studies, and best practices, to enhance the understanding and awareness of development challenges and solutions.
  • Communication and outreach: Support the development and implementation of communication strategies, including social media campaigns and content creation, to raise awareness about UNDP's work and engage stakeholders.
  • Partnership building: Assist in fostering partnerships with government entities, civil society organizations, private sector actors, and other stakeholders to promote collaboration and facilitate the achievement of development goals.
  • Administrative tasks: Provide administrative and logistical support as needed, including organizing meetings, managing documentation, and maintaining databases and filing systems.
Qualifications
  • Enrolled in or recently completed a relevant undergraduate or graduate degree program in areas such as international development, economics, social sciences, environmental studies, public administration, or a related field.
  • Strong academic performance and a genuine interest in international development and the work of the United Nations.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from various sources.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using computer applications and software relevant to the job, including MS Office and data analysis tools.
  • Adaptability and cultural sensitivity to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
