Responsibilities
  • Support Programmatic Activities: Assist WFP teams in the implementation and monitoring of food assistance programs, including emergency response, nutrition initiatives, school feeding, and food security projects. This may involve data analysis, research, and report writing.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research on various aspects of food security and humanitarian response, including data collection, analysis, and assessment of needs in specific regions or countries.
  • Support Logistics and Operations: Contribute to the logistics and supply chain aspects of WFP's operations, assisting in the management and distribution of food aid and other relief items.
  • Communications and Advocacy: Support communication efforts by creating content for social media, assisting in the development of reports, and participating in advocacy campaigns to raise awareness about food insecurity and hunger issues.
  • Capacity Building: Assist in training and capacity-building activities for WFP staff and partner organizations, contributing to knowledge sharing and the development of best practices.
  • Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support to the WFP team, including organizing meetings, preparing documents, and handling day-to-day tasks.
Qualifications
  • Enrollment in or recent graduation from a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g., international relations, development studies, public health, nutrition, logistics, etc.).
  • Strong academic performance and a demonstrated interest in humanitarian work, food security, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English. Proficiency in other UN languages is a plus.
  • Adaptability and ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to field locations, if required.
